Editor, RE: “Need proof of Rwanda’s transformation? Go to the villages” (The New Times, September 18). If those deniers were non-Rwandan only, one could at least understand and forgive them as they may be misinformed or simply have their own agenda. However, you can easily lose your mind when you read David Himbara’s articles rubbishing everything our country has achieved under the leadership of President Paul Kagame. According to him, all those statistics about Rwanda’s development are Kagame’s fabrication. He deliberately forgets to mention that some of those numbers are also coming from IMF, World Bank and other reliable sources with no intention whatsoever to tell lies and not from Paul Kagame. Ironically, the same denier belonged to a group of economic advisors to the President before he left his native country and went back to his adopted country of Canada. I welcome him to break the shell of his self-made exile, visit the villages and see for himself the transformation instead of wandering all around tarnishing and belittling the sacrifices made by Rwandans.
