‘Newly promoted’ Etincelles FC have signed four new players in a bid to strengthen their squad ahead of the start of the 2015/16 Azam Rwanda Premier League on September 18. The four new signings include former SC Kiyovu left-back Fiston Nyarugeta, who signed a one-year contract, right-back Moise Maniramfasha from Espoir FC on a two-year contract, goal keeper Danny Barthez from Musanze on a one-year contact and Ugandan striker Moses Kame from KCCA on a two-year deal for undisclosed fee. “We are trying to strengthen the squad in the shortest time possible especially that we knew that we would be playing again the first division only two weeks ago,” said the club assistant coach, Djabil Mutarambirwa. The official transfer window closed on September 9 but Mutarambirwa is optimistic his club will be offered special dispensation to sign more players. Etincelles was relegated last season along with Isonga FC but returned to the league together with AS Muhanga after FERWAFA increased the number of league teams from 14 to 16. Mutarambirwa noted that, “We wish to sign two strikers, one defender and two midfielders because our target is to become a regular league club.” Meanwhile, in a separate interview Etincelles president Amani Turatsinze disclosed that the club have approved an annual budget of Rwf55m which will come from their main sponsors, Rubavu district, and have already received Rwf7m.
