The reigning champions maintained their fine bowling form when they dismissed Indorwa for a cheap 72 all out. Challengers’ captain Srinath Vardhineni again delivered the goods with a breathtaking spell, picking five wickets to lead his club to their second successive victory. The win also took their points tally to 10, two more than Kigali Cricket Club. Challengers’ Rwandan youth international Evode Mutuyimana also picked two wickets for 20 runs to uphold his reputation as one of the country’s finest prospects in the game. “It is yet another great team effort. We still managed to defend a low score which says a lot about our bowling potential and winning mentality,” Vardhineni who also doubles as the national cricket team captain said. In the first innings, Challengers had also set a meager score of 84 with Sairum Gopalan top scoring with 15runs. Indorwa’s Harshad Shamar picked five wickets to earn the club a consolation bonus point. Indorwa are still at the foot of the table after managing just a draw from three games. Meanwhile, Vardhineni, who also claimed seven wickets against Young Tigers, now tops the Cup’s bowling charts with 14 wickets. Challengers will now play Right Guards in their final pool fixture. Ends
