Still unbeaten, the 2011 winners beat AIC Kosirai of Kenya in four sets (3-1) 25-23, 25-13, 22-23 and 25-13 on Thursday to remain top of Pool B with maximum 12 points from four games, two points ahead of AIC Kosirai. Indangaburezi, coached by Abdulkarim Shumbusho, had won their first three matches in straight sets (3-0) against Makongo (TZ) on Monday, Trust High of Kenya on Tuesday and Lycee Sainte Therese on Wednesday respectively. “I am happy with today’s victory but we don’t have too much to time relax before Friday’s (today) game against Saint Aloys Rwamagana. We taking every game as the final and there is not room for complacency. We want to this trophy to stay home,” Shumbosho said. Elsewhere, hopefuls Lycee de Kigali overwhelmed Nabisunsa girls’ school of Uganda 52-37 in girls’ basketball to qualify for Saturday’s semi-finals. It was LDK’s fourth straight win. Today, LDK will be up against Shimba Hills of Kenya in their final pool A match. In boys’ basketball, Musanze-based APICUR beat Maseno of Kenya 73-70 but APE Rugunga lost 63-77 to Burundi’s ETG Nyakabiga.
