Sports Club Kiyovu has appointed former KCCA head coach Samuel Amamba as the new head coach on a one-year contract. In an interview with Times Sport, club secretary general, Elie Manirarora disclosed that they have given him a task to win one of the major trophies including the National League Title or Peace Cup. “He is very experienced in East African football having both played and coached in the region and moreover has a CAF B Coaching license,” said Manirarora. In another interview with Amamba, he expressed his desire to take the team forward. However, he explained that much has to be done in order to reach the desired level. “So far some of the players are good but since I am new, I have to first settle and assess the players carefully and later we can decide what to do,” said Amamba. He further added that he is sure he will do a good job at the club since he is not new to Rwandan football having played for APR in 2006-2008 after a stint with Kampala City Council FC (KCC) of Uganda. Amamba has been in the coaching profession since 2009 having coached Tupisa Pusika of Central African Republic from 2009-2012. Kiyovu had started talks with Gicumbi FC to take their coach Emmanuel Ruremesha but the talks ended for unknown reasons.
