“Ishimwa” screens this weekend

Ishimwa: From Bloodshed to Grace, a 15- minute short film will be screened at Chapter One in Kimihurura, today, as part of the Spoken Word, a monthly event. On Saturday, the same film will be showing at The Office, Kigali’s co-working space, in Kiyovu at 7:30. This will be followed by a Q&A session, in which Ishimwa and Cynthia Umulisa Butare, the producer of the film, will take part. Ishimwa: From Bloodshed to Grace reveals the story of a Genocide survivor’s struggle to overcome his past, and to come to terms with his trauma by finding redemption in form of dance as an acclaimed ballet dancer.
