Dear editor,As stock markets around the world respond to turbulence in the U.S., variations on a dusty old theme are heard repeatedly in the media and elsewhere. It used to be said that when America sneezed, the rest of the world caught a cold. The saying seems to be still true. Look at Britain, Asia and so many other countries’ financial failures. US started it and the rest followed, as if they were part of the problem directly. I do not see Africa escaping either. So, we should be forewarned that an economic cold from the US would be with us any time. KIGALI
