The much awaited national boxing inter-clubs championship gets away this Sunday at Amahoro national stadium. After two years of no action eighteen pugilists from four clubs will be squaring it out for the national honors scheduled to ring this afternoon. In the red and blue corners of the ring will be boxers from Kimisagara, Inkuba, Rafiki and Panafrique punching in the first tournament of the season. The tournament is organized by Kimisagara Boxing Club and with technical assistance from the Rwanda Amateur Boxing Association, Raba. According to the federation technical director who also doubles as national team head coach Gashugi Kananura, the boxers are in good health and technically fit to last the four –round bouts. “Some of them have been in the national team and have been in the ring before. All of the listed players are in good shape for the four rounds bout,” notedGashugi. The event is, said Gashugi, insured by Sonarwa and Sulfo has, among other sponsors pledged to provide refreshments for the boxers. Gashugi said that the weights of the boxers and their matching will be fixed on the very day of the bout. Ends
