Rwanda and Netherlands to strengthen relations

Foreign Affairs minister Louise Mushikiwabo, yesterday, concluded a two-day working visit to the Kingdom of The Netherlands, which aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries. According to a statement from the ministry, Mushikiwabo, during her stay in the European country, met several dignitaries, including ministers, parliamentarians and scholars. The minister and and her delegation during her visit to the specialty coffee roaster in The Hague. “Today, the minister started with an extensive meeting at the Dutch parliament in The Hague with a group of MPs of the standing committee of foreign affairs, which is going to visit Rwanda from 17 to 20 August 2015,” reads the statement released yesterday. During the session, the Dutch MPs sought to know about available opportunities for small and medium enterprises and the two sides discussed regional affairs, mainly the situation in neighbouring Burundi and how it affects the region. (Courtesy) “As the Rwanda specialty coffee continues to trend in the Netherlands, the minister made a short visit to Koffiebranderij Boon, a specialty coffee roaster that roasts Rwanda coffee beans from Rushashi,” adds the statement. Rushashi is located in Rulindo District. The proprietor of Rushashi, Lianne Bertens, told the minister that of all countries her favourite coffee is from Rwanda. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
