Dear editor,Since October is the breast cancer awareness month, I think the Ministry of Health should sensitise Rwandans women on breast cancer just as other nations are doing. If women around the globe are making efforts to ensure that, they are able to recognize signs of breast cancer, why not the Rwandan women. The women parliamentarians should remember that more recognition comes with more responsibility and help the illiterate. Rwandan women especially the illiterate in rural areas deserve to get informed of this cancer that commonly afflicts African women. Though, there are so many challenges in achieving this goal, women organizations together with the government can make a change. This can easily be done by hosting a number of events and seminars that recognize the purpose and benefits that come with women’s awareness on breast cancer. The press too through radio, T.V and newspapers should make more people aware of the fight against breast cancer. KIYOVU
