Editor, Reference is made to the article, “Pan-Africanists want Kagame to lead war against illicit financial flows” (The New Times, June 28). At last, African people can open their eyes and realize that we can achieve something bigger than what we are normally told to do. This comes as a relief for the African people. I hope that this wise decision—of wanting President Paul Kagame to lead the war against illicit financial flows—can be implemented and not just stay in deliberations as the likes of Muamar Gaddafi’s idea for a united Africa. I truly can’t wait for the day we will be able to say that we, as Africans, are finally out of the bounds for the colonial masters who still dictate us on this and that. Like the Nelson Mandela once said, “The only weapon that we Africa need in its struggle to achieve development is education in its complete form”. Indeed, once we have done what we can to achieve a higher level of education, then we can stand equally with the former colonialists and other forms of supremacists and other viruses that do not allow us to achieve the greatness that we deserve.
