Editor, Allow me to react to Joseph Rwagatare’s article, “Of legacy, threats and Rwanda’s future” (The New Times, June 23). I have always found the western powers very contradictory: they say they give you independence but still want to remain task masters over you; they preach democracy but never want the people to decide their own destiny; they preach love and peace while busy working on your downfall and subjugation. They act wolf in sheep’s skin. We should always beware! Sometimes we deceive ourselves that liberation movements are supposed to be a closed chapter. The tyranny just changed face and the struggle must change strategy too. Let’s stay vigilant because legacy is grown and never imported. Donart
