By Frank Namara Since 2010, KPMG has been commemorating and supporting vulnerable genocide survivors in different parts of the country. This year, on the 5th June, a team of KPMG employees led by the Tax Manager, Angelo Musinguzi, visited Nyamata Genocide survivors where they donated an assortment of items including mattresses, blankets and T-shirts to the 1994 vulnerable Genocide survivors, living in Nyamata sector, Bugesera District. The items worth Rwf 2 million were donated to a total of 30 families. Musinguzi, noted that supporting and commemorating survivors is a good value they will carry on for long. “We are here to remember the lives of Rwandans who lost lives in 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi; we also find it important that we make efforts to support survivors who have numerous problems to overcome in their lives. This is the basis for our intervention here in Nyamata sector,” Musinguzi said. KPMG, an audit tax and advisory firm promised to continue identifying with the survivors “we will continue honoring the survivors in the country especially old men, women and children in whichever way possible” Angello Musinguzi who represented KPMG Country Director added.
