Children all over the country are studying hard to pass their end of term exams. This is not an easy task for many kids but remember that practice makes perfect. If I may ask, what methods are you using to ensure that you pass with excellence? Are you just cramming all the information day and night to fix everything in your head? No, this is not the best way to revise. Instead of cramming, let’s look at different ways of revising that are helpful and not time wasting. The best time to revise is when you are not hungry. Hunger is very distracting because instead of reading your books you are thinking about all kinds of yummy food. Before you sit down to study, eat a simple snack not a heavy meal. If you eat a heavy meal, your mind relaxes as your head swings left and right while you dozzzzzzz! Another way is to relax before you read. If you know the proverb “Work without play makes Jack a dull boy”, it applies here. Take time to play some relaxing games that do not tire your brain. From my experience, when you read after playing a game, material just enters straight to your memory and is stored in the brain meaning you will remember everything when writing your exams. Remember to be clean and organised both on your exam papers as well as your body. When clean and fresh you can also be neat and orderly on your exam paper so that your teacher can tick correct for every correct neatly written answer. You might get a bonus mark for cleanliness.
