The Kigali Sharks will be aiming to win their second title at the upcoming Kigali Sharks 7s tournament which gets underway tomorrow at the UTEXRWA grounds. The one-day tournament has attracted giants Remera Buffaloes and Lion de Fer who are both two-time winners, Muhanga RFC, Kamonyi Pumas, Thousand Hills RFC, Tumba Jaguars but the University of Rwanda Grizzlies will not make it to the event since they are in holidays. Sharks won the annual tournament in 2012 and will be seeking to use their physical advantage over the other participating teams. Meanwhile, the defending champions Lion de Fer are in good shape after getting tips from center Yannick Sangwa who recently underwent training clinics in Uganda and Kenya. Lion de Fer captain Olivier Nikwigize said, “We have never been this ready.” This is the first of many annual sevens tournaments this year organized by clubs in conjunction with the Rwanda Rugby Federation. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
