Dear editor,I think we should borrow a leaf from the English premier league if we are going to benefit from our local leagues here in Rwanda. Our clubs usually insist on using national players and have always discouraged international players from coming to Rwanda. However, there is a lot of money that can be gained from international players in form of taxes. In England for example, players are paid a huge amount of pounds in terms of wages per week but they don’t get to keep all of it. A big chunk of this money is taken back to the national revenue as taxes, hence earning the country lots of money. So clubs back here should hire talents from all over the world, in order to make the league more interesting. After this, they will realize lots of money from selling tickets to fans who want to watch soccer from stadiums. We would also love to be ardent fans of our local clubs other than being passionate over clubs that are thousands of miles away from home. It is not too late to earn from a sport that is loved by many. All it takes is opening up and borrowing from others that have made it possible. KIMIRONKO
