3D technology to ease engineering

Rwandan industries and other business plants dealing with manufacturing activities can now get easy manufacturing of products, with a close engineering services provision from newly established Gasabo 3D design limited. This was revealed by the company’s Managing Director, John Rugamba, in a half day workshop held at Telecom house in Gasabo District. He explained that the workshop aimed at presenting the company’s activities and operations to it’s clients. Gasabo 3D, is an innovative engineering company that provides a variety of architectural drawings and other engineering services. It was established early 2007, and has provided services to many global manufacturing companies in US, Canada, France and Brazil. According to Rugamba, the company specializes in Solid Works Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technologies with three dimension models. “Our clients will be providing us with 2D CAD drawings, scanned drawings or sketches and we deliver them 100% accurate 3D models,” Rugamba said. He called on all Rwandan industrialists to take up the company’s services and technology saying that it makes it highly effective since they will work closely with the company’s dedicated technicians and engineers specialized in 2D and 3D conversion. “From our resource standpoint, this will act like adding cost-effectiveness to their staff,” said Rugamba. He added that these services will help their clients in training staff on the modern infrastructure with latest 2D to 3D conversion software and hardware. Through share holding, the company has worked with Rwanda Information and Technology Authority (RITA), through which government support has been used to boost its development and expansion. Gasabo 3D Company will also provide engineering services to Rwanda’s education sector which will set a booming future for the country’s engineers. With this, Rugamba said that the company will sensitize both Private and Public Universities in the country so that they work with his company. “We have so far started delivering our services to Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), and students are acquiring a lot from 3D technology,”he said. According to Jean-Pierre Nsabimana, an official from KIST in the department of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, the new technology has provided a lot of innovation to young engineers. He said that the new service has been run successfully and students get it easier in using solid works software. Ends
