Second-placed Les Lionnes scored their goals through striker Angelique Umutoni, who netted a brace and Clotilde Ufitenema. Huye-based Les Lionnes trail reigning champions AS Kigali by seven points after 11 rounds of matches. After the match against struggling Bugesera, Hererimana admitted his players have already exceeded what he expected from them his season and tipped his side to get even better in the second half of the season. “We played well, controlled the game from beginning to end and I think we deserved the win, my players were brilliant today (Sunday). We had a good first half of the season and the aim is to get even better in the second round,” Harerimana told Times Sport. He also added, “At first, we wanted to finish in the top four this season but we are on the second position, four points ahead of Inyemera in third place. I must say I’m impressed because the players exceeded our expectations.” Elsewhere, table leaders and defending champions AS Kigali maintained their unbeaten run with a routine 4-1 over Huye-based Atletico. AS Kigali forward Anne Marie Ibangarye is the leading top-scorer with 18 goals, four ahead of team mate, Alice Niyoyita, Nothia Uwimana of inyemera has 11 while Kamonyi’s Dorothea Mukeshimana completes top four with 7 goals.
