Editor, Allow me to react to the article, “Rubavu mayor Bahame arrested over corruption” (The New Times, March 24). Unbelievable that some are yet to learn from their colleagues whose collars have already been felt by the law, that dipping their fingers in the muck could get them into the priority lane for the cooles. It looks like the hard lesson is now being taught that being a mayor in Rwanda should not be considered a license to make a quick buck, illegally. Let us extend this civics lesson to all areas and levels of public service, with the same vigour. Make all manner of graft very dear for all who would engage in it. Mwene Kalinda
