Hermas Cliff Muvunyi. (File) Reigning IPC World Champion Hermas Cliff Muvunyi has clinched a gold medal in the men’s 400m at the ongoing Tunis International Meeting in Tunisia. His country-mate Jean Claude Ndayisenga walked away with bronze in the same event to ensure two Rwandans were on the podium, a feat that shows the progress the Paralympic movement is making in Rwanda. This is the 27-year old’s second gold medal at the three-day meet that started on Monday when he emerged victorious in the men’s 800m. Muvunyi, who is targeting this year’s All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville from September 4-19 and the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games in Brazil, has started the 2015 season in top form. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
