BY MARTIN TINDIWENSI WESTERN PROVINCE RUBAVU: Two thousand bodies of the Genocide victims recently discovered and exhumed in Busesamana and Mudende Sectors in Rubavu District will be reburied decently, an official has disclosed. Erasmus Salambuwe, president of Rubavu District Advisory Committee, said family members, local leaders and residents of both sectors will attend the gracious burial. Salambuwe was meeting Imidugudu, cells and Gisenyi sector leaders, teachers, hotel proprietors, leaders of financial institutions, heads of various associations and NGO operating in Rubavu district recently. The meeting was convened to discuss security issues in the district. Salambuwe said one of the issues on the agenda was to raise funds to facilitate the burial of over 2000 bodies. Participants contributed Frw1.4m and promised to mobilise more support. Salambuwe called on Gisenyi residents to join Mutualle de santé, a community medical insurance scheme. He said that the number of those who have joined is still very low at 56 per cent yet all are entitled to access cheaper health services offered by the scheme.
