A hundred and seventy-eight former students of Kigali Institute of Management (KIM) yesterday graduated in the options of accounting, banking, and finance, at the institution’s fourth graduation ceremony. Presiding over the ceremony, the KIM board chair, Peter Rutaremara, reminded the graduates that they stand on the threshold of real life of a new journey and urged them to continue the hard work in order to test the skills acquired. “I do not want to over emphasise the hard work and determination that led you to this day. No, that would be celebrating history. Rather, I would like to remind you that today you stand on the threshold of ‘real life’ of a new journey where the knowledge and skills you have acquired, as well as the visions and dreams you have had will be tested,” he said. (John Mbanda) The Chancellor of KIM, Prof. Sewe Mutsotso, told the graduates to use the knowledge acquired to lead social transformation in their communities in particular, and the country by extension. One of the best students, Justin Mbera, said the knowledge he acquired will help him realize his dream of creating his own business. “KIM is not an institute that offers only theoretical and practical knowledge but also competitive knowledge that put us in position to be innovative and much competitive on the job market,” said Mbera, who graduated in accounting.
