I do not think it’s healthy when bosses, managers or those in power to take it upon themselves to segregate against their subordinates. All it does is to ruin the employees’ attitude and in the long run, brings about inefficiency and ineffectiveness at work. Its okay to show appreciation where it’s due but many managers have a tendency of unnecessarily promoting particular individuals in a company without clear reasons to back up the promotion. In most cases, this practise demoralises those employees whose hard work goes unnoticed at the expense of some uncouth managers.
