Two Indian firms have registered in Rwanda and plan to invest $2.25 million (about Rwf1.6 billion) in the agricultural and health sectors over the next three to five years. Vinay Goel, the medical director of Mumbai-based Lifecare Diagnostic and Research Centre and one of the investors, told The New Times after registering their business at Rwanda Development Board (RDB) on Monday, that the firm will set up a $2 million health facility in Kigali, which will diagnose various ailments. Arjun Bees Wax Industries, an agro-processing industry, which had expressed interest in investing in Rwanda last year, said they would open up a $250,000 venture in the country after completing consultations with RDB, according to Arjun Bheda, the chief executive officer. The firm manufactures pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, from honey and bee wax, among other products.
