Jean Claude Gakumba has resigned as the Vice President of Rayon Sports with immediate effect, according to the club spokesperson Emmanuel Aime Niyonsabye. Gakumba, who has been Rayon Sports’ vice president for the last three years tendered in his resignation letter on Monday afternoon citing ‘personal reasons’ Efforts by this paper to get a comment from Gakumba were futile by press time as his known phone was switched off. However, club Spokesperson Niyonsabye denied any misunderstandings in the club hierarchy. “I would be speculating to say that he resigned because of anything else other than what he said. As far as I know there hasn’t been any problem in the club administration. So we need to accept that he resigned for personal reasons,” Niyonsabye said. Gakumba’s resignation follows that of former Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya and former coach Luc Eymael who resigned last year. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
