Rwanda is among the best countries for investors in Africa, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has said. He was speaking yesterday during a major investment conference in South Africa. Blair, who has since arrived in the country, named Rwanda along with Ethiopia and Mozambique as Africa’s leading investment destinations. “Rwanda, Ethiopia and Mozambique are examples of better governance and where economic and investment opportunities are very clear,” said Blair. He added, “Rwanda is a well-run country.” While here, he is scheduled to visit the $23.7 million Rwamagana solar power plant, located near the Agahozo Shalom Youth Village in the Eastern Province. The plant, unveiled on February 5 as the first utility-scale solar power plant in East Africa, will contribute 8.5 megawatts to the national grid. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
