Reigning Champions Police handball club has started intensified preparations ahead of the new season. The team, which has been training since Monday, is keen to build from last year’s unprecedented success when it won seven trophies that included; the National League, Liberation, Genocide Commemoration, Labour Day, Sulfo Beach, Carre d’AS and Rwanda Cup. The upcoming busy season, which includes the league campaign, six local tournaments and two regional and continental competitions, starts early in February with the National Heroes tournament. Speaking to Times sport, Police handball coach Antoine Ntabanganyimana said the team was keen on replicating last season’s success. “Our major target is to replicate last season’s form. That is why we started training early. I have challenged my players to do more in regional and continental engagements because that is why we performed poorly last season,” Ntabanganyimana said.
