Pierrot Kwizera. Rayon Sports have signed Burundian born midfielder Pierrot Kwizera on an 18-month deal from Tanzania club Simba Sports Club. News of 23-year-old’s signing was confirmed on Thursday by Rayon Sports spokesperson, Aimee Emmanuel Niyonsabye. The ‘Blues’ signed Kwizera for Rwf6m. “It’s important to strengthen our team in preparation for the second round of the league and the Caf Confederation Cup. We have signed one of the best players in the region and believe he will help us to raise the level of the team,” he said. Niyonsabye also disclosed that the Nyanza-based side have agreed terms to sign Congolese duo, Kengi Junior Mutombo (AS Bantou), Pappy Tshishimbi Kabamba (TP Mazembe). Asked about left back Abouba Sibomana and right back Kalim Nizigiyimana, who are reported to have joined Kenyan side Sofapaka, Niyonsabye said, “We still have contracts with them and we will wait until the team returns to training on Monday before deciding what to do.” Rayon Sports is currently fourth on the table standings with 21 points from 13 games, 11 points behind arch-rivals and table leaders APR, who are five clear of second placed AS Kigali. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
