HIS STYLE: You don't have to be flashy to look good, says Eddie Mico

Eddie Mico is a gospel musician and the project manager for Tear Fund Organisation. The 2012 Groove Award winner describes himself as a passionate musician and a simple guy who loves God. He lives to make a difference in people’s lives and wants a good after life. He shared his wardrobe secrets with Society Magazine’s Stephen Kalimba. What’s your dressing style? Eddie Mico I like to wear sneakers, jeans and khakis. I also like to put on fitting clothes that are made of cotton. I try to balance, not to over dress or underdress. So you want to be comfortable? I want to be neat and on point. It doesn’t have to be expensive. When you dress well, it boosts your confidence. It even changes the way you walk. Are you into accessories? I wear them but when necessary, they don’t have to be flashy. I like African necklaces. They have colour and are not flashy. Where do you buy them from? I have a guy I buy them from called Claude. He sells all types of jewelry like necklaces and bangles. Then there is also another lady called Diane Uwera who sells African jewelry. What’s your worst buy? I have a pair of sneakers that are high, whenever I wear them, a friend of mine says I look young.Any fashion advice? Always try to dress according to where you are going and wear clothes that fit you well. Get colours that match. Be neat and simple. If you’re going for a bodyguard interview, don’t go in a suit! Why that example? I have a bouncer friend who, together with his buddies, always wears tight fitting tops. He says if you wear a suit, people might miss the muscle. editorial@newtimes.co.rw
