Rayon Sports head coach Andy Magloire Mfutila is on an exhaustive search for three reinforcements in the Democratic Republic of Congo as he seeks to turn around the fortunes of the 2012/13 league champions. The Congolese tactician confirmed to this paper that he wants to sign a formidable striker, a creative midfielder and left winger to service his attack-minded philosophy that should guide the Blues back to winning ways. “We want to build a team that will play good football and win games. That is why I am making sure that we sign some players who have experience and exposure,” explained Mfutila in a phone interview from Lubumbashi. The former APR trainer revealed that he needs another experienced striker alongside Peter Otema who was signed from Police FC where he was playing in defense and sometimes as a holding midfielder. Otema has scored three goals for the Blues so far this season but his new role on the left wing as a replacement for the injured captain Fuadi Ndayisenga means that he has to feed striker Isaac Muganza. The utility player has notably provided crucial assists this season including a spectacular pass to striker Muganza last Sunday as Rayon Sports was held to a 1-1 draw by newcomers Sunrise in Rwamagana. It is such circumstances that Mfutila wants to correct and deploy players in their rightful positions to get the best out of them. The Nyanza based side is in second position on the table standings with 18 points, two behind table leaders APR.
