RAYON SPORTS have officially signed forward Jerome Sina on a one-year deal after the former Rwandan international was released by Police FC ending a lingering misunderstanding between both sides. Rayon Sports secretary general Aimee Emmanuel Niyonsabye confirmed that, “Both clubs and Jerome Sina had talks on Saturday and agreed terms. Sina started training yesterday and will be available for selection in our next fixture against Sunrise next month.” Sina had earlier denied personal terms with the Blues because of some disagreement following his contract with Police FC but Police FC spokesperson Jean de Dieu Mayira said that they cooperated with Rayon Sports to handle Sina’s issue. “We owed Sina Rwf2.5m and paid half of it while Rayon Sports will pay the other half,” explained Mayira. Sina is on loan from Congolese side DC Virunga and Mayira confirmed that Police have an agreement with them to retain the striker till the end of the season. Rayon Sports will have to seek talks with Virunga at the end of the season if they are interested in signing him or maintaining him on loan. Sina is the second striker that the Blues have signed from Police this season following Peter Otema’s arrival ahead of the season start. Both strikers are among dozens of players who acquired new names and Rwandan citizenship and have represented Rwanda at different levels.
