Bralirwa was the only active counter at the Rwanda Stock Exchange (RSE) yesterday. The brewer, however, traded only 300 of its shares in one deal, yesterday’s market report from the bourse indicates. The counter traded at Rwf361, bringing in a total turnover of Rwf108,300. This was a decline of Rwf3 compared to Rwf364 on Monday last week. The Bank of Kigali counter was quiet, but closed at Rwf289, which was also a Rwf6 decline compared to the previous Monday’s closing price of Rwf295. The RSE Share Index dropped by 2.84 points during the week, closing at 226.01 points yesterday, down from 228.85 points last Monday. Davis Gathaara, the managing director of Baraka Capital, a brokerage firm at the RSE, attributed the low activity at the bourse to the fact that people are saving for the festive season.
