Mukura Coach Godfrey Okoko wants to bring back the good glory days back to Mukura. (T. Kisambira) Burundian tactician Godfrey Okoko returns to his former club Mukura Victory Sports as head coach determined to bring back glory to the side that sits in relegation zone in the National Football League. Okoko, who endeared himself to the club faithful when he guided Mukura to second place finish after languishing in the relegation zone in the 2011/2012, season is keen on replicating the same this season but admits there are no guarantees. The Burundian who begins work today told Times Sport that, “We are currently 13th on the league table with just three points but only eight points separate us and the fourth placed team. That means that the league is very competitive.” Okoko revealed that he will meet the players today and resume practise from where sacked coach Jean Baptiste Kayiranga stopped. He said, “Kayiranga had prepared the team well and I will continue from where he stopped. Discipline is very important and I know that if we work together we shall bring back glory to Mukura.” The soft-spoken trainer admitted that he has young players who have endured a hectic start to the league season playing seven games in three weeks but nevertheless this two-week international break will help the players to recuperate. Okoko who signed a one-year contract confessed that he is overjoyed to return to Mukura, a club that treated him very well in his past tenure and in return he promised to reward them with glory this season. The Burundian thanked his former employers for agreeing to let him join Mukura which increased his wages.
