Rwanda’s sole professional player, Emmanuel Ruterana has stepped up his training in preparation for the Sunshine Tour due next month in South Africa.Ruterana told Times Sport over the weekend since he was invited to take part in the South African professional tournament; intensive training is what makes his day.“At the moment, am underdone because I am training and will continue to train hard such that by the next month, I would be able to put on a good show at the event,” Ruterana said.He added that he still has a lot of tasks to achieve in his career and that’s why he has no room for resting.“I must train harder such that I can perform my best in both regional and further international tournaments,” Ruterana said, adding that though he is still engaged on playing regional tournaments, he is also eyeing more standard tours around the globe.Ruterana, who is fresh from Uganda where he competed in the Ericsson and Mbarara Barclays Open tournament, will make his major mark in his career when he competes in South Africa’s Sunshine tour later this month.The 24-year old sees this tour as the biggest tournament of his professional career because it’s going to attract golfers from across the African continent and beyond, a feat which will give him a chance to challenge with the best golfers on the continent.The Sunshine Tour is an annual men’s professional golf tour based in Southern Africa. For much of its history it was known either as the South African Tour or the First National Bank Tour, but it re-branded itself in an attempt to broaden its appeal.The tour is one of the six leading men’s tours which make up the International Federation of Professional Golfers Association (PGA) Tours.Ends
