Trust Law Chambers, a Kigali-based law firm, has attributed its success to the country’s enabling business laws and policies that support local investors. The firm’s founder and managing partner, Richard Mugisha, said the firm has grown in size, and improved its quality of services to clients over the past 10 years, thanks to business reforms that have made it possible for businesses to thrive. “The success of firms providing legal services is inextricably linked to the well-functioning of state institutions,” he added during an event to mark the law firm’s 10th anniversary at the Nyarutarama Chinese Restaurant on Friday. While presiding over the event, Johnston Busingye, the justice minister, advised the legal professionals to always uphold integrity whenever carrying out their activities. Meanwhile, the firm has appointed an advisory board that will be chaired by Philip Coulson. Other members are Steven De Backer, Paul Bugingo and Gurmit Sanktoh. Mugisha said all the board members are accomplished professionals.
