Howto: Behave at a wedding ceremony

An invitation to a wedding ceremony is an honor and a guest’s behavior should reflect that honor. Therefore, how you behave or the way you conduct yourself reflects the guest’s character and background. Attending a wedding requires proper conduct and here are some of tips on how to go about it. Dress appropriately Even at an informal or beach wedding, cut-off shorts and flip-flops are too casual. Honor the couple by dressing properly to fit the occasion, most probably outfits that cover the whole body. Respect religious regulations Regardless of your own beliefs and ideas, it is rude to disregard religious requirements for the couple. If you are not sure of the standing rules, ask the wedding organisers to take you through them to avoid acrimony. Something you consider to be small can annoy those in attendance. Control liquor consumption Plenty of alcohol at a wedding is not an excuse to act foolishly. Decide how much to drink so you that you don’t ruin the event by becoming too intoxicated and nuisance. Alcohol lowers embarrassment and your common judgment is dealt a big blow in the process. It can make you do things you are likely to regret the following day or the rest of your life. Even if you think you can handle your alcohol quite well, one glass of wine at a wedding should be your limit. If need be, have a friend with you to cut you off from the bar when you have reached your maximum limit. Behave sensibly The nice-looking bridesmaids are not up for grabs by the invited guests. In most cases, such maids are decorated and painted to resemble the woman getting married. If you want to be respected, try not to portray those sexual advances to your friend’s party ceremony. Edit your conversation Your audience at the reception is not there to hear other guest’s political, religious or social opinions and also not a networking opportunity. Keep the conversation light, possibly funny and focused on the event at hand and always try to have fun but remember to behave in a mature and responsible manner. Feel relaxed ance to the music, enjoy the cake and use this opportunity to catch up with family and to make some new friends, too.
