As the in charge of the day-to-day activities at GroFin Rwanda, a small and medium enterprise development financier, Claire Kayitesi interacts with a variety of people. The calm and conservative Kayitesi spoke to Society Magazine’s Doreen Umutesi about her fashion sense. How would you describe your dress sense? Claire Kayitesi My dress sense is simple, decent and elegant. I like to dress according to what I will be doing. In other words, the environment dictates what I wear. By environment, I mean the work place, what I do and the various activities involved in my day-to-day life. What’s your favourite clothing item? I believe my favourite clothing items are trousers and shoes. I own many of them. I’m an impulsive shopper of the two. Where do you shop for clothes? I have no specific place. But I’m very selective when shopping for clothes. What do you consider when shopping clothes? I look for things that are unique and of quality, decent, comfortable and they should have a touch of elegance. What is your favourite fashion accessory? Jewelry is my favourite fashion accessory. They say jewelry is a girl’s best friend. What is your favourite clothing item on a guy? Elegance. .....It will make my head turn for a guy. He should be dressed in a nice shirt, pants and classy shoes. What’s your favourite scent? It keeps changing but for now it’s Armani Code. What is the most expensive fashion accessory that you own? Hand bags are the most expensive fashion accessories that I own. I can’t say one thing is expensive, for me quality comes before trends. Any fashion advice? Ladies, style is important but always go for what suits your body. Don’t throw out your decency and respect for the sake of trends.
