Suleiman Kakira FORMER U-17 national team midfielder Suleiman Kakira has joined Kiyovu SC on a season long loan from rivals and reigning league champions APR FC. This was confirmed by Kiyovu head coach Ali Bizimungu on Saturday. He said: “Kakira is now our player for the 2014/2015 season. He is young but has the quality to play at this level. He has already showed what he is capable of in training.” The 19-year old is one of five players that APR sent out on loan for the upcoming season, which gets underway on October 18. Others include; Ernest Sugira, Nova Bayama, Hamdan Bariyanga and Isaie Songa, who joined Eric Nshimiyimana’s AS Kigali. Kakira is a product of APR football academy and was part of the U-17 Amavubi team that reached the final of the 2011 Africa youth championships in Kigali to qualify for Fifa World Cup, which was held in Mexico. Kiyovu will open their 2014/45 league campaign at home to Rubavu-based Marines FC at Mumena stadium on Sunday, October 19.
