It was a weekend of mixed feelings for Rwandan players abroad as Emmanuel Imanishimwe, Abeddy Biramihire, Meddie Kagere and Ally Niyonzima failed to progress – with their teams – in continental campaigns. The likes of Samuel Gueulette, Yannick Mukunzi and others, however, put up great performances for their clubs in Europe. In the Superettan league, midfielder Rafael York and his brother Torre Rafael were not involved as Gefle IF went to the NP3 Stadium to draw 2-2 with GIF Sundsvall. Striker Kaleleo Uwimbabazi featured 90 minutes for Pitea IF who pipped Stocksund 1-0 on Saturday. In the Vastra Svealand league, central midfielder Gilbert Ishimwe featured for IFK Eskilstuna in their 1-1 draw with Ragsved. Norway In the Tippeligaen, Ange Mutsinzi saw 90 minutes of action for FK Jerv who were thrashed 3-1 at the JJ Ugland Stadium by Sogndal. In Division 2, goalkeeper Clement Twizere Buhake played full time for Strommen IF who beat Ull/Kisa 2-1 King Josias Fruraha played 58 minutes before being replaced by Peder Dovland in Flekkeroy’s 1-1 draw with Bratvag. Netherlands In Eerste Divisie, winger Noam Emeran was not in the FC Gronningen side which shockingly lost 3-0 to Den Bosch at the Euroborg Stadium. Belgium Teenager Hakim Sahabo was an unused substitute as the second team of Standard Liege lost 1-0 to Patro Eisden. In the First Amateur Division, Central midfielder Samuel Gueulette put up a solid performance for Raal La Louviere who thrashed Vise 3-0. Salomon Nirisarike was not in the KVK Tienen team which suffered a 4-1 defeat in the hands of Thess Sport. Ukraine Amavubi skipper Djihad Bizimana saw 70 minutes of action before being replaced by Mykita Tartakov in Kryvba's 3-1 defeat to Rukh. France In Ligue 1, Warren Kamanzi was an unused substitute for Toulouse who beat Metz 3-0. Switzerland In Classic Liga, skipper Quentin Rushenguziminega played full-time for FC Echallens who drew 1-1 with FC Grand Sacconnex. Defensive midfielder Espoir Niyo Nsanzineza was also in action for Rapperswil-Jona who lost 2-1 to FC Young Boys II. Slovenia In the second tier which is the Druga Liga, centre-back Dylan Georges Maes was superb at the back for newly promoted NK Tolmin who drew 1-1with Dravinja. Saudi Arabia In the second tier, defensive midfielder Steve Rubanguka was excellent for Al Nojoom who recorded a 1-1 draw with Al Taqdom on match day 3. Kenya Both Patrick Sibomana and Emery Bayisenge played full time for Gor Mahia who drew 1-1 with KCB. Algeria Attacking midfielder Djabel Manishimwe was on the bench for USM Kenchela FC who defeated JS Kabylie 2-1. CAF Champions League Left-back Emmanuel Imanishimwe enjoyed 90 minutes of action for AS FAR Rabat who lost 2-1 at home to Etoile du Sahel. FAR Rabat were eliminated on a 3-1 aggregate. Abeddy Biramihire was an unused substitute for UD Songo who lost 3-1 to Petro du Luanda. UD Songo were eliminated 5-2 on aggregate. CAF Confederation Cup Veteran striker Meddie Kagere was on the bench for Singida Fountain Gate FC who lost 4-1 to Future FC of Egypt. They were eliminated 4-2 on aggregate. Central midfielder Ally Niyonzima was not in the Bumamuru FC squad which lost 2-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns. They were bundled out 6-0 on aggregate. Uganda Central defender Samuel Kato Nemeyimana played 90 minutes for URA FC who drew 1-1 with Bright Stars. South Africa Goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari was an unused substitute for TS Galaxy who drew 1-1 with Richards Bay FC at the Mbombela Stadium on Sunday. Luxembourg Sven Kalisa featured for Etzella Ettelbruck who beat Orania Viaden 2-0. Right back Jonathan Nsanzimana was also in action for FC Residence Walferdange who beat Schouweiler 3-0 in the second round of the Luxembourg Cup.
