Rayon Sports management is planning to start a football academy in January with a view to help nurture a generation of talented players to feed the senior team. This was revealed by the club president Theogene Ntamapaka on Friday. He said: “We are thinking of setting up an academy which would produce players for the senior team as well as the junior national teams. The project could start as early as next year in January and we feel it would make a huge impact as far as the development of our football is concerned.” “We intend to nurture a young and exciting generation of football stars, with the right exposure to the soccer world. It will help us in producing our own players instead of buying foreign players or from other [local] clubs,” he explained. The Rayon Sports academy, if it starts, will be one of several in the country, adding to one of APR and SEC among others.
