Dear editor, I read in your newspaper yesterday that a child aged 7 years was raped. Child rape is equivalent to killing with torture and hence the worst crime a human being can commit. Some months ago a child of the same age was raped and merciless killed by teenagers in Rwamagana district, at a place called Nyarusange. That it is still happening elsewhere in Rwanda. A reason for great concern. Rape in general was dying down, a thing that I hope made our law enforcers relax. We just can’t afford to tolerate the behaviour in this century. Does it mean that if we banned capital punishment, we cannot bite? This is a great shame that calls on us to severely punish the offenders. Our children need to be protected and this is our duty as adults, police officers, soldiers. Please act immediately! Kigali
