RWANDAN CREW of Christakis Fitidis and Eric Nzamwita are in Kenya ready to compete in the 62nd KCB Safari Rally, which is scheduled for this weekend. The rally will cover 800km across three counties; will be flagged off at Kenya International Conference Centre this Friday at 10am. Fitidis and navigator Nzamwita arrived in Kenya on Monday to finalise their registration at the Kenya Motor Sports Federation (KMSF). Drivers are expected to undertake reccing and scrutineering for their cars today and through to Thursday. The three-day rally will be flagged off on Friday at the Batian View with the super stage. Chaynes currently tops the ARC standings with 101 points followed by Mohammed Essa (93) and Jaspreet Chatthe (58). If the ARC title winner is not decided in Kenya, Chaynes and Essa will have to take their battle for the crown to Madagascar for the final round set for November 7-9. Gitega rally The rally de Gitega held over the weekend in Burundi was won by veteran driver Rudy Cantanhede, while Valery Bukera finished second with reigning champions Davite Giancarlo settling for third. Next on the national rally championship calendar is the Gakwaya Memorial rally in Huye on October 4.
