Rayon Sports were playing without key players such as defenders James Tubane, Abouba Sibomana and striker Gentil Kambale. While Mukura were also without goalie Alphonse Nizeyimana, Muhadjiri Hakizimana, Nicholas Mahoro, Hussein Cyiza, Claude Nahimana and Yves Kwizera. Kayiranga said, “With two weeks left to the start of the season, we still have some issues to rectify in far as our ambition next season is concerned.” “Defence-wise we are good because we have only conceded two goals in three matches played so far but our strikers are yet to gain confidence in front of the goal,” added the former Gicumbi tactician. Mukura is expected to travel to Burundi this weekend for a series of friendlies before the 2014/15 league season starts on September 20.
