First Ladies discuss advocacy

BUJUMBURA - The First Lady of Rwanda, Mrs Jeannette Kagame on Friday, 22 August, met with her Burundian counterpart, First Lady Denise Nkurunziza. This was part of President Paul Kagame’s three-day official visit to Burundi, which begun on Thursday. Mrs Kagame began with a visit to Buntu Foundation offices, which was founded by Mrs Nkurunziza. While there, Mrs Kagame shared experiences regarding Imbuto Foundation which she founded in December 2007, focusing on initiatives in health, education and economic empowerment. Both parties also discussed common activities such as the First Ladies’ Campaign; Treat Every Child as Your Own, which both First Ladies advocate for.
