Hannington Namara is the new TradeMark East Africa country manager for Rwanda. Namara, who has been the Private Sector Federation (PSF) chief executive officer, replaces Mark Priestley who is now the head of TradeMark regional office in Nairobi. Namara has been PSF chief executive since 2012. Speaking about the appointment, Namara pledged his commitment to continue serving Rwandans, especially the business community, and promoting regional trade. “I will continue supporting the country’s growth objectives to ensure economic sustainability,” Namara told The New Times. He assumes office mid- next month. He takes over TMEA Rwanda office at the time when EAC governments are scaling up efforts to fast-track regional infrastructure projects to reduce the cost of doing business. These include the joint railway project and the oil pipeline. Namara has vast experience in business-related issues. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Makerere University Business School in Uganda. Before joining PSF, he had previously worked at Rwanda Development Board, and I&M Bank.
