Local and regional musicians are set to perform at the third edition of Volkano Fest, skated for October 6-9. The event will take place at the Red Rocks and Classic Hotel in Musanze District, Northern Province, offering a treat for music enthusiasts. Themed “Harmonising with Nature”, this year’s festival aims to raise awareness about individual and collective responsibilities in taking care of the planet, with special performances by renowned and emerging creatives from East Africa. Performers include Rwanda’s Bushali, poet/rapper and singer-songwriter Angell Mutoni, singer and songwriter Kaya Byinshii, Deo Salvator, a guitarist and artiste, and Eric 1Key, among others. Organisers informed The New Times that the third edition of this event introduces several new features. These include a dedicated Kids Zone to entertain young attendees during the day, a free yoga session for participants, and an increased number of arts and craft vendors, providing revellers with more options than in previous editions. Volkano Fest is a cultural movement that connects communities through the universal language of art.
