Rwanda National Police (men) and Rwanda Revenue Authority (women) volleyball clubs emerged winners of the 2023 Kirehe Open Tournament which ended on September 24 in Kirehe District. READ ALSO: Volleyball: Kirehe Open Tournament to attract 14 teams The annual tournament is organized by first division side Kirehe Volleyball Club in partnership with Kirehe District. Gisagara and Rwanda Revenue Authority won the 2022 trophies in the men's and women's categories, respectively. Police edged defending champions Gisagara Volleyball Club 3-1 after coming from one set behind 16-25, 25-23, 25-19, and 25-20. The third edition of the tournament attracted seven clubs in the men's category – Kirehe, Police VC, Kepler, Gisagara, REG, APR, and KVC. Three teams; Police, APR, and RRA, participated in the women’s category. The two winners – RRA and Police WVC – met in Sunday’s women's final, where RRA went on to retain their title after bagging a deserved 3-0 sets’ victory against the Rwanda National Police team.
