TALKS BETWEEN Ferwafa and SuperSport are at advanced stages for the latter to broadcast live national football league matches, Ferwafa secretary general Olivier Mulindahabi has said. Speaking to Times Sport on Wednesday, Mulindahabi said: “We have been in discussions for some time now and SuperSport has given us some conditions which we need to fulfill before we could conclude the deal.” “One of the major conditions is for us to see to it that the number of fans coming to the stadiums increases, which is partly why they decided to broadcast the (ongoing) Cecafa Kagame Cup 2014 as a test run,” he disclosed. He added: “If all goes well, SuperSport will start broadcasting the national league next season but the final decision won’t be known not until after Kagame Cup 2014.” South Africa-based SuperSport broadcasts different leagues around Africa including; Nigeria Premier League, Ghana Premier League, Kenya Premier League, Zambia Premier League, Angola Championship , Uganda Super League and the South African Premier Soccer League.
