Dear editor,I am convinced beyond doubt that if we are to experience women emancipation, we need to put in place women run-banks that will give priority to women when it comes to giving loans. The proper way to push women forward is not only by projects giving them skills, but also capital to help them start. I also believe that women are more careful with their spending, they are more conscious of needing to provide for the family than men. That is why when a man wants to be free from domestic demands, entrusts his wife with his money. In other countries, women’s bank is a wider “epicentre strategy”, in which a cluster of villages work together to meet their basic needs - educational, maternal health and HIV/AIDS care, animal health and agricultural. These banks would greatly benefit the rural deprived women in Rwanda. The government should think about the idea seriously. KABEZA
