Editor, Refer to the story, “Bar owners warned against hosting minors” (Sunday Times, August 10). These minors are the future Rwandan, African and world leaders. Therefore, their future should not be jeopardised and doomed by alcoholism. I commend Rwanda National Police for being predictive and mindful of the world’s future, prior to the legal upbringing of these minors. On the other hand, the parents and/or the guardians in question should note that charity begins at home; hence, they should rally behind the police to ensure children are brought up in a morally upright atmosphere. Danny Okongo, Uganda **************** Seriously, it’s time we parents took the blame at the very least. How do we dare settle down whilst a 14-year-old kid is messing up somewhere by what we call “hanging out”? Where are parental morals, family values…? CKH, Rwanda
